Admissions and Enrollment

Admission to First School is open to anyone, regardless of race, religious affiliation or family circumstances. All religions are respected and all children are treated as members of God’s diverse family. Available spots will be filled as completed registration forms and fees are received.

Please review the First School Family Handbook for further information about all aspects of First School.

School Year Registration
Registration for currently enrolled students and their sibling is on February 7th and 8th.   Members of the First United Presbyterian Church may register their children on February 11th and 12th in the First School office.  Registration forms for church members are available in the church office. Open enrollment begins February 14th (see below).

For the school year, children are placed into classrooms according to their age on August 1, 2019.  The Parent’s Day Out program will accept children with birthdays between July 2016 to August 2018. 

The Parent’s Day Out Classes are divided as follows: 

  • Toddler (12-20 months): November 2017 - August 1, 2018

  • Younger 2’s (21-28 months): March 2017 - October 2017

  • Older 2’s (29-35 months): July 31, 2016 - February 2017

For the Preschool Classes, we offer two classrooms for each age group and divide each age group by birthdays:

  • Older students: August - January

  • Younger students: February - July

The curriculum for each age group is the same.

Summer Program

The summer program is offered on M/W and/or T/TH, no Fridays, and there are two sessions:

  • June 17th - July 11th (Closed July 4th)

  • July 15 - August 8th

The hours are the same 8-noon or 8-2:30 pm.  For the summer program children are placed into classes according to their age on August 1, 2018. Our students promote to the next class level at the beginning of the school year.  The summer program has an elementary camp for children who have completed kindergarten through 4th grade.  The summer program details are still currently being voted on and thus details are not confirmed.

After all available spots are filled, names will be placed on a waiting list. Parents will be notified about enrollment results by February 28. If your child’s name is placed on the waiting list your registration fee will be returned to you.

Registration Fees

  • Fall Registration for 2019-2020 School Year: $80 per child

  • Summer Registration Fee: $30 per child per session
